Happy Pink Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday everyone, please click on the pink icon to the right to visit
other participants. Thank you Beverly, of How Sweet the Sound for hosting.

Today I'm showing my aquarium - yes, it's a real working aquarium with live fish.
It's six sided, so getting a good picture is difficult because of the "mirror"
effect. It's sitting on the bar area between my kitchen and dining area.
I have pink and white china pieces inside, the fish love pink/rose china!
You can see one of the large silver fish just above the wine glass.(Click on pictures

4th of July and Happy Pink Saturday

I look out the window at the peaceful water, the pretty pots of pink flowers, and I'm getting ready to sit and have a glass of lemonade.........

NOT!!!

I sit in my chair in the living room, looking at the picture of the water, and day dream about sitting on that deck!

Today though, I really am relaxing, celebrating the 4th of July,
at the lake in the hammock.

Happy Pink Saturday everyone, and have a fun and safe 4th of July celebration!

Pink Saturday

I've had some comments asking about my multi-fabric sofa, (shown in my "blog header"). Years ago, I saw a chair with 4 fabrics and I fell in love with it.
I didn't buy it, the colors were too dark for me, but when it came time to do
something with this sofa, I remembered that chair!

For months I shopped for fabric, then I found the beautiful floral fabric! Over time, I began picking other fabrics that I felt worked together. I decided where I wanted each fabric and the upholsterer did the rest! The seat cushions are floral on one side (for spring and summer) and red on the other side (for fall and winter). Today I'm showing how I incorporate the color pink with my red sofa, and my multi-fabric sofa.

Enjoy...... (click on picture to enlarge)

Front side of multi-fabric sofa.

Back side of multi-fabric sofa.

This shows both sofas. I had a small square table I covered with some extra
plaid fabric, and placed it behind the multi-fabric sofa. With a few spring/summer
accents, it all comes together. On the coffee table, I have a large book of
roses and a cherub holding a pink rose.

The large needlepoint pillow in the center of the red sofa picks up the
colors (including pinks) that are in the floral fabric on the other sofa.
The two round pillows look good on either sofa, I change them around often.

On the left of the room, I have floor to ceiling mirrors on the entire wall.
This is a small house with a small living area, the mirrored wall reflects
more light and gives the sense of more space. This picture shows one chair
and part of a small round table. I usually put this chair out for summer
and spring. The darling "little girl" pillow was made by Pat of Summersdarling.

I hope you have a wonderful Pink Saturday and a beautiful week ahead.

Happy Pink Saturday

Today I would like to show you a few pieces of my "hand collection".
First, is a group of vintage porcelain hands.

Here are 3 hands with hand-painted roses. The two on the left painted by Karen Daugherty, of Karen Daughtery Studio, and the one on the right, painted by Jennifer,
of Jennifer's Petal Palace. Jennifer also made the cute pink faux cupcakes!

These are porcelain bisque doll hands. I plan to do something with them,
meanwhile, I just enjoy looking at them.

That's all for today everyone. I have a huge hand collection, will show more another time!
